Terry Gilecki has been a fine artist and involved professionally in freelance commercials since 1974. Gilecki faced the challenge of working many mediums and innovating methods and techniques to fit specific demands. Many of those challenges are reflected in the processes and procedures used in his art. His art is achieved by applying reactive mediums and applying the modeling material for the texture, often reworking the surface and color glazes until the desired effect is achieved.

Usually, impressions are made before the surface is catalyzed. The original design is then transferred to the support and may be modified to capitalize on the character features developed in the textured medium. His paintings are then done in acrylic, using a combination of airbrush, brush, and scratching back techniques, translucent, opaque, and occasionally, metal powders for dimensional quality.
